San Diego Comic Con has finally arrived! Its very 1st day was super busy for Dan and his Legion co-stars, as they promoted the show all over the place. Their panel started at 5pm, but they arrived fairly early in the morning and went around giving interviews and posing for portraits. In this post, we’ll focus on the images from the event – partly because it seems more organized, and partly because I’m tired and starting to go cross-eyed with all the new information that’s being released.

I’ve been adding pictures to our gallery as they come out, and you’ll find all the updated albums below. Thanks to my friend Sara, from rosemciver.net, for sending many of them our way!

Noah Hawley, creator of Legion, teased what’s coming next for Dan’s character, David Haller, in Season 2 of the FX series in an interview for Entertainment Weekly. Although it has no premiere date as of yet, he told The Hollywood Reporter he’s expecting it to air around the same time of the year as Season 1, which was on February 8, 2017. You can read his quotes below, but beware of possible spoilers!

Noah Hawley revealed that the he’s sort of flipping the show’s premise for its upcoming sophomore run. “I was interested in that first year of exploring the idea of an insane man in a sane world,” said Hawley. “Now, maybe it’s flipping for me. I like the idea that David may be the sane one in an insane world.”

Just moments after finally being free from the Shadow King for the first time in his life, David found himself trapped in a mysterious mechanical orb in the post-credits scene of “Legion” Season 1 finale. During a press event ahead of the season-ender, Hawley didn’t reveal where that drone-like device is taking David, but he did share some insights into why they decided to end the show’s freshman run with that unsettling scene.

“We want to keep the pressure on. Out of the frying pan and into the fire is a pretty good approach to storytelling on some level,” Comic Book Resources quoted Hawley. “If you keep the pressure on someone whose psychology has always been unstable, it’s going to keep [him] from being able to really [heal].”

In a separate interview for Deadline, Hawley said that what happened in the post-credits scene indicates that Season 2 will tell a brand new story.

“It means that Season 2 is beginning. It means that we’ve completed this story and we’re starting a new one,” said Hawley. “You know, my goal is always that the first season would be about fighting the enemy within and, you know, learning about this entity that was inside of David and about getting it out of David, and Season 2 will be about then the enemy without and this entity now we know is a person.”

Hey guys! My friend Mouza has just launched a fansite dedicated to actor Luke Evans, who starred with Dan in the film Beauty and the Beast, in which he played the villain Gaston. He is also known for the films “Dracula Untold”, “Fast and Furious 6”, “The Three Musketeers”, “The Hobbit” and many more. As a huge fan of Luke’s myself, I’ll be giving her a hand every once in a while, and I hope you pay the site a visit! It is called LUKE EVANS ARCHIVES, and the URL is luke-evans.org.

A few more details about the upcoming Legion promotion at San Diego Comic Con have emerged! According to Superhero Hype, a discussion panel and a Q&A about the show are set to take place on Thursday, July 20, 5 PM – 6PM, at Ballroom 20. Previous reports have stated that Dan is very likely to attend.

Legion: Discussion and Q&A – Thursday, July 20, 5 PM – 6PM, Ballroom 20
Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a troubled young man who grew up believing himself to be schizophrenic, only to discover he is something more than human. In fact, David could be the most powerful mutant who ever lived. Along with a team of other extraordinarily gifted people at a facility called Summerland, David learned to accept his true self and defeat the Shadow King. Or so they all believed. Join Creator/Executive Producer/Writer/Director Noah Hawley, alongside fellow Executive Producers John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner and Jeph Loeb, and series stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, Bill Irwin, Jeremie Harris, and Amber Midthunder for a conversation of what to look forward to from Season 2 of Legion. Room: Ballroom 20. Moderator: TBD.

FX has announced its San Diego Comic Con lineup, and it includes a panel for Legion! As of right now, Dan is expected to make an appearance, and fans are likely to get a sneek peek of Season 2. Tickets for the event are sold out.

As reported by Deadline, all three shows will be appearing, but with some changes to the usual FX schedule. The Strain will be appearing in Ballroom 20 on Thursday, July 20, along with Archer and Legion. The panel line-ups have not yet been confirmed, but it looks like the key cast members, creators, and showrunners should be appearing, including Noah Hawley, Jeph Loeb, and Dan Stevens for Legion and all the voice actors for Archer along with EP Adam Reed, co-EP Casey Willis and EP Matt Thompson.

This will be the final SDCC appearance for The Strain, which is about to start its fourth and final season this July, so fans of the show can expect something special to say goodbye. Meanwhile, Archer has just wrapped its eighth season, and has been renewed for two more — although it is set to wrap after season 10. Legion is the newest addition to the FX family in the SDCC lineup, having launched this spring to critical acclaim. The trippy, artsy look at mutant David Haller (Dan Stevens) won over audiences and critics alike, and it is likely that attendees will be treated to a sneek peek at both Legion season 2 and Archer season 9 this year.

It is a bit of a surprise that FX has moved from Hall H to Ballroom 20, and is kicking off the weekend with a Thursday spot, rather than making their presentation on the final day. However, this is fantastic news for fans, as Ballroom 20 is significantly easier to get into, which means a better shot at seeing the stars of these shows talking about what’s to come in future.
